Apply trigonometric formulas such as sine and cosine laws to real-life situations by allowing students to estimate the earth's diameter, using sticks, shadow reading in their schools and other schools with different latitudes. Students will develop an understanding of scientific concepts using facts, theories, principles, and models. New mathematical concepts are proven to estimate the radius of the earth of objects that are impossible manually to measure.
The audience will watch the experiment, analyze data and learn how to apply it in their classroom. The final target of this presentation is to simplify the use of trigonometric functions for students.
